When someone messages us about bikini laser hair removal, the first question is almost never about the machine. It is some version of: who will be in the room, what will I have to take off, and can anyone walk in.

Those are fair questions, and they deserve a clear answer instead of a vague promise that the space is private. So here is exactly how a bikini session works at our studio in Phu Nhuan.

What private means in practice

Private is an easy word to put on a website. In practice it means a few specific things, and you can check them anywhere you book.

One closed room with a door, not a curtain between beds.
One specialist in the room with you, the same person from start to finish.
No phone in the room, and no photos unless you ask for progress photos yourself.
Somewhere to change, and your clothes within reach.
Disposable underwear provided, and a towel covering everything you are not working on.

At Hugo Beauty, bikini sessions are always one-to-one, in a closed room, with a female specialist. If anything about the setup makes you uncomfortable, say so and we will change it.

How much do you actually uncover

Only the strip being worked on. The rest stays under a towel, and your specialist moves the towel section by section as she goes.

There are three common options, and it helps to know the words before you book:

Bikini line — the hair that would show outside underwear or a swimsuit. Most people start here.
Full bikini — the bikini line plus the hair inside the underwear area.
Bikini and underarms together — a common package, because both areas are quick.

You choose the option, not the specialist. If you want to start with the bikini line and extend later, that is completely normal.

Is a bikini session painful

The skin in the bikini area is thinner and more reactive than on the legs, and the hair is coarse. So yes, you feel it more than on the arms. Most clients describe it as a warm snap, like a thin elastic band, repeated quickly.

The cooling tip sits on the skin the whole time and takes most of the heat away. On coarse areas the specialist works at a slower pace and checks with you every few passes. If the setting feels too strong, say so during the session — the energy can be lowered immediately.

Two small things make a real difference: shave the area the day before, and avoid booking on a day when your skin is already irritated from tight clothes or a long day in the heat.

Before your first bikini session

Shave the area 12 to 24 hours before. Do not wax, pluck or thread for four weeks before.
Come with clean skin — no cream, oil or deodorant on the area.
Stop retinol, AHA and BHA on that area for five to seven days.
Stay out of strong sun for two weeks, and skip self-tanning products.
Wear loose clothing to the appointment, ideally cotton.
If you take anything that makes your skin more sensitive to light, tell your specialist before booking.

If you are on your period, the bikini line is still fine. For a full bikini most people prefer to reschedule. Just message us — it is a normal reason to move an appointment and nobody needs an explanation.

The session itself, step by step

A bikini line session takes around 15 minutes. A full bikini takes about 25 to 30.

A short look at the skin and a few questions about products and sun exposure.
You change, and your specialist leaves the room while you do.
A small test area first if it is your first session, then a short pause.
The main passes, area by area, with the towel moved only where needed.
A calming gel at the end, and a short reminder of what to avoid.

You can get dressed and go straight back to work. There is no downtime.

Who this suits, and who should wait

Bikini laser suits people who are tired of shaving every few days, who get ingrown hairs along the bikini line, or who simply want less maintenance in a hot climate.

It is worth waiting if you are pregnant, if the skin in that area is currently irritated or broken, if you had a strong sunburn in the last two weeks, or if you waxed recently and the root is not back yet.

Sessions, spacing and cost

The bikini area usually needs six to ten sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, then an occasional maintenance session. Rates for the bikini line, full bikini and the bikini-plus-underarms package are on our price list, with the single-session, six-session and ten-session prices side by side.

Will I be alone in the room with one person?

Yes. Bikini sessions are one-to-one in a closed room with a female specialist, from start to finish. Nobody else comes in during the session.

Do I have to shave before, or will you do it?

Please shave 12 to 24 hours before. The laser needs the root in place but not the hair above the skin, because hair on the surface only absorbs heat where you do not need it.

What if it hurts more than I expected?

Tell your specialist during the session. The energy can be lowered, the pace slowed, or the session paused. Nothing about the setting is fixed once it has started.
