HIFU Before or After a Flight?

A practical planning guide for international visitors and Viet Kieu travelling through Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Updated August 30, 20267 min read

When you are fitting an aesthetic appointment into a trip, the best timing is not simply “before” or “after” your flight. It depends on your skin, itinerary, comfort, and whether there is enough time for a careful face-to-face assessment.

If this is your first treatment, learn more about HIFU face lifting in Ho Chi Minh City and whether it may suit your aesthetic goals.

01 · The short answer

Give your appointment room to breathe

HIFU is a non-invasive treatment and many clients continue with their normal day afterwards. Even so, we do not recommend rushing directly from the treatment bed to airport security. Temporary warmth, redness, tenderness, or sensitivity can happen, and every person responds differently.

Our practical preference

Book early in your stay, after you have rested from your flight and before the final day of your trip. Your exact timing should be confirmed during your consultation.

02 · Timing your visit

Choose the moment that fits your trip

Best for most visitors

After arrival, once rested

You arrive without the pressure of a departure deadline, and there is time for a proper consultation. Hydrate, settle in, and come with clean, comfortable skin.

Plan carefully

Before your return flight

Leave a sensible buffer between your appointment and airport transfer. Do not schedule a first-time treatment when your itinerary is already tight.

03 · Sample itinerary

A calm three-day plan

Day 1 · Arrive and reset
Check in, hydrate, rest, and keep your skincare simple.
Day 2 · Consult and decide
Visit the studio for an assessment. Proceed only if the plan and timing feel right.
Day 3+ · Continue your trip
Follow your aftercare, use sun protection, and stay in touch if you have questions.
04 · After the session

What you may notice in the first 24–72 hours

Immediate experiences vary. Some clients notice very little, while others may feel warmth, tingling, mild tightness, tenderness, or temporary redness. These points are not a promise of what you will experience; they are reasons to discuss your travel schedule and health history openly before treatment.

Treatment depths and settings are personalised for each area. Learn more about the Ultraformer MPT technology used at Hugo Beauty.

05 · Personal planning

What to share at your consultation

A useful consultation begins with context. Tell your practitioner what you hope to improve, previous aesthetic treatments, relevant health conditions, medications, implants, active skin concerns, and the date of your next flight.

Safety note

HIFU is not suitable for everyone. If you are pregnant, have an electronic implant, active skin damage or infection, or a related health condition, disclose this before any treatment.

Hugo Beauty is located on Nguyen Van Troi Street, the main corridor between Tan Son Nhat Airport and central Ho Chi Minh City. Travel time changes with traffic, so check your route before leaving.

06 · Common questions

Before you book

Can I have HIFU on the same day as my flight?

Many clients return to their normal routine after HIFU, but timing should be decided after an in-person assessment. If your schedule allows, leave some time before a long flight so you can observe how your skin responds.

Will my face look red after the appointment?

Temporary redness, warmth, tenderness, or mild sensitivity can occur. The response differs by person, treatment area, and treatment settings.

How long should I stay in Ho Chi Minh City?

HIFU typically does not require a dedicated recovery stay. A consultation earlier in your trip leaves time to assess your goals properly and avoids squeezing treatment between airport transfers.

Can I book before arriving in Vietnam?

Yes. Contact Hugo Beauty through WhatsApp, share your travel dates, and send a clear photo of the area you would like assessed. Final suitability and the treatment plan are confirmed in person.

When will I see a result?

Some people notice an early change in firmness, while collagen-related changes develop gradually. Results vary with age, skin condition, tissue structure, treatment plan, and individual response.

Results vary from one client to another. View our HIFU before-and-after results to see real treatment cases at Hugo Beauty.
